CLECS Y CLWB / CLUB GOSSIP ( December 2011) (29-12-2011)
Aled Bebb posts his final report of the Centenary year.
Despite the inclement weather in the advent period leading up to the Christmas Celebrations the players still turned out at the local club in enthusiastic numbers.
Over fifty were present for the fourth leg of the Winter League when the man in form Carl Jones with 39 points held off Nigel Southgate also 39 points winning on the back nine. Third was Justin Quinn with 38 points and ever improving Haravinder Singh on 37 points. On the last weekendbefore Christmas in very stormy and cold weather two dozen players braved the elements and again Justin Quinn was in the winners enclosure, winning this time with 38 points from junior Jack Rimmer on 37 points who beat Terry Davies also on 37 points on the back six.
During this period the annual Llanilar Tuesday Turkey Trail, having been held on six successive Tuesdays, came to a climax, and the organiser of the weekly turnout Alun Jenkins announced the recipients of this years Turkeys. The comfortable winner was Billy Morris with several scores of forty plus points, holding off the consistent Huw Williams, with Richie Jenkins the Club President third from Terry Davies fourth.
With the Centenary year coming to an end the whole club would like to wish all players a happy festive period and thank all who partook and enjoyed an extremely busy and successful year.
