Having regular competitions, both at weekends and mid-week, resulted in the handicaps of golfers coming down impressively.
In a Summer Stableford Clive D Williams scored 40 points off 11 just holding off newcomer Chris Wylde 39 points off 26 with Emrys James 37 points off 11 third beating Dai Blair 36 points off 2 fourth. John Scullion eagled the third hole with a two on the par four hole.
The Monthly Medal saw all four single handicap leaders drop a shot on their handicap. Stephen Beresford scored an outstanding one under gross 69-6-63 to beat Steve Hughes’ 71-6-65 with Barry Phipson third on 74-7-67 and Mark Deveraux 75-7-68 fourth. Following this Medal an extra Stableford took place with young Jac Rimmer showing excellent form with 40 points off his lowering handicap of 5 with another novice Andrew Caree scoring 39 points off 27 (to drop two shots) and Nick Morgan 39 points off 11 and Nathan Jones 38 points off 13 third and fourth.
In the latest Redvers Llewellyn qualifier James Jenkins with 81-16-65 saw another two shots disappear off his handicap while Roland Salmon dropped a shot with 84-16-68. Two low handicappers were third and fourth with Pat Jones with 72-4-68 beating Simon Edwards 73-5-68 on the back nine.
In the Dyfed League the Tigers had a good win at home against Ashburnam by 5 ½ matches to 3 ½ and though losing away at Tenby came away with a respectful 5 ½ and 3 ½ defeat. The Rabbits entertained Garnant Park and obtained a very good win 5 ½ and 1 ½ . Meanwhile the seniors achieved a good 3 matches to 2 win away at Cardigan despite struggling to take a full team away. They continued their unbeaten record while entertaining Aberdovey managing to draw the match 2 ½ to 2 ½ .
